100多年前Caricature畫家
是藉由Humor漫畫來殘酷的批評,甚至侮辱對象
然而,今天Caricature畫家是For Fun而畫(還有$$)
很多人認為Caricature勢必要將臉部變形(distortion)
但我認為並非如此
Caricature是誇張而非變形
誇張是將事實強化,
而變形則扭曲了事實,
例如你把一個圓眼睛畫的超大超圓,
你是誇張了事實,
如果你把它畫的又小又窄,
那就是扭曲事實的變形,
但不可否認,
有一些具有傑出創意的畫家,
不但能成功地運用變形,
且保留人物誇張的特徵 (如 Joe Bluhm.....Sean gardner)

caricature

and which usually makes them look ridiculous:
The characters in his early novels are a lot subtler
than the overblown caricatures
in his more recent work.
